keen supporter of the launch from the start and attended the Sec Ten
Launch of the homeless People's Federation in Durban South Africa
Accompanying the Sec are the head of National
government shelter organisations such as HUDCC and the Community Mortgage
Programme
In a brief interlude in the campaign the various
actors meet to discuss the MOU to be signed by the various communities,
NGOs, government rep.s, mayors and UNCHS. The full MOU is HERE
Communities from 7 cities presented the finding of
large scale surveys of urban poor communities to national shelter
officials. The surveys were conducted in 18 cities throughout the
Philippines as a lead up to the launch.
During the survey presentations we received a phone
call from the President requesting us to come to Malacanang Palace
to discuss the 40,000 peso model house in Payatas. During the meeting the President
requested to come and see the house the next day.
