Communities from 7 cities in the Philippines set up stalls in preparation  for the Federations Secure Tenure launch November 2000. 

 

Through Slum Dwellers International community guests from Thailand, Japan and India arrive to support the Federation and share  experiences with each other.  They are also there to assess the potential benefits of running similar campaigns in their countries. 

 

The Model House  : 40,000 pesos for 40 sq meters of living space. Affordable housing for the poor developed through the Federations savings and loan programme.  More technical detail on the Model House HERE 
Model house exhibitions have become a standard poor people's tool around Asia and around the world, and have been used again and again throughout the ACHR and SDI network

 

In the evening SDI and Federation speakers addressed the Mayors Network Meeting in Manila as part of the local government involvement in the Secure Tenure Launch in collaboration with the UNCHS.
