and more

There's a lot going on in media now - particularly on the internet - about cities, the urban poor, politics of development, climate change etc. Our friend Ken Fernandes has a talented knack of picking up interesting stories and recommending them to a growing list of interested and appreciative people around Asia and the world. So we thought we would give space on the ACHR site for people interested in stories relevant to urban poor development and the issues we face, as well as a variety of human interest stories and humour.

There are some stories recommended by others as well ... and feel free to let us know of your own links to interesting videos, pod casts, web sites and articles.

Be aware the material is not from ACHR, but from external links and coalition partners do not necessarily endorse all materials linked.

SPECIAL INTEREST HEALTH

Hi,

the following was recently sent to me by a friend. I thought I would share this with you. It is quite profound and something many meditation practitioners often experience. It also gives us an insight into our selves and our brain.

I hope you can watch this talk by Jill Bolte Taylor. Jill got a research opportunity few brain scientists would wish for: She had a massive stroke, and watched as her brain functions -- motion, speech, self-awareness -- shut down one by one. An astonishing story.: here

In many ways it also compares to some of the experiences some of us had in a recent course on Kanyini conducted by Uncle Bob Randall, in Uluru.love,

If Nothing Else, Save Farming

It’s probably too late to prepare for peak oil, but we can at least try to salvage food production.
